Spring Essentials
In honour of this beautiful weather, I’ve gotten a kick start on my spring cleaning! Social distancing has certainly made it easier this year - fewer distractions, appointments and I have no where else to be. I’ve been re-organizing, deep cleaning and bringing out my favourite spring decor items. (click here for my guide to organizing!)
If you’re anything like me- you probably have a few sets of seasonal decor items. I always love giving my home a fresh feel by switching out, or adding a few staple items. I’ve listed some of my go-to items below - always doing my best to support Canadian owned and operated businesses!

Neutral Bedding
I love switching out my bedding in the spring! A lighter duvet and some fresh neutral bedding is a great way to lighten up your bedroom - bringing the longer, brighter days inside. I absolutely love this set from Simons Canada. The chenille detailing is gorgeous and the neutral colour makes it easy to add in some accent colours.

Pretty Pots
It’s a little early to get the outdoor garden started - but adding some greenery to the interior of your home is the perfect way to celebrate spring. Greenery is always on my spring home list - and I love picking stylish pots for them! This pot is of my favourites - the woven texture is so natural and they come in a variety of pretty neutral and pastel colours. And they’re made from cement, making them super durable and sturdy - bonus! Many local garden centres are doing curb-side pick-up and delivery too - so you can get your hands on some new plant babies without risking your health or safety!

Fresh Throw Pillows
One of the easiest and most inexpensive ways to change up the look of a room is by switching out the throw pillows. I often have warmer, more textured pillows in the colder months so switching them out for lighter, neutral ones in spring is such a nice change. I love this set from Tonic Living - the subtle patterns and soft colours are perfect for spring. Not to mention Tonic Living is a locally owned You’ll be amazed how something so simple can make a huge difference in a room. Check out my throw pillow guide if you’re having trouble deciding!

Lively Door Mats
With little chance of any more snow - it’s time to give life to your front porch! I usually hold off on the outdoor plants until the end of May, but a new door mat is a great way to freshen up the look of your front porch. You might not be inviting any visitors into your home for the next little while - but your friends and family can admire from afar.
Spring Scents
There is seriously nothing better than finally being able to open up the windows and let that fresh spring air inside. I will definitely be doing that this weekend - as well as switching out my hand soap and room spray scents. I always go with the Two Sisters Naturals - their Clean scent is my favourite! It’s also the perfect time to support this lovely local company - they have hand sanitizer too!

Times like this can very stressful - but I find giving my home a good Spring cleaning, and doing my best to support local businesses helps keep the positivity up!
Sending well wishes to you all - and happy cleaning!
