Staging a stunning two-bedroom condo in Barrie, ON.
As one of six newly-renovated units, we started staging this space around the most recent finishes. The neutral paint choice, modern kitchen finishes and beautiful lighting made a beautiful canvas for our team.
Kitchen, Dining and Living
The kitchen, dining and living areas are all connected in this open-space unit - so we had to choose a colour palette that worked with all of them. Taking into consideration the pre-existing paint colour, cabinetry and flooring - we chose a cooler palette with modern greys and some beautiful accent blues (my favourite!!!).
We went with an elegant but compact dining table with long-back chairs. The grey shade of the chairs really complemented the under-counter cabinetry and kitchen tiles. We finished the space off with a decorative vase and greenery, a simple fruit bowl, and a statement wall art piece with accent colours. A round modern mirror was also added to connect the kitchen and living area.
Next we tackled the living room! We chose a medium grey couch and love seat set, with a light grey accent chair. Next we added a side table, coffee table and console set with light wood tops and dark hardware for the base - offering a modern and clean look and feel. A large area rug with some beautiful texture was then chosen to ground all of the furniture.
Smaller spaces like this one always pose a challenge when it comes to functionality - so we really had to take into consideration furniture placement to make the most of this space.
Design Tip: Choosing coffee and side-tables with “see-through” bases can contribute to the illusion of a bigger space.
Finishing Touches
We topped the table set with silver lamps with neutral shades, blue pottery pieces and greenery. Two beautiful pieces of wall art allowed for a pop of colour and interest in the space, and a few throw pillows helped pull the colour palette and patterns together.
Bedrooms
We staged both bedrooms in this unit, once again choosing neutral colour palettes that are cohesive with the main living areas.
The master bedroom was completed with a stunning wood bed frame and matching side tables. The silver hardware worked really well with our final decor choices - from the white linens to the blue accents in the lamps, throw pillows and wall art.
We continued the neutral colour scheme into the second guest bedroom with white linens and a side table and console similar to the style of the living room table set. We left the blue accents out of this room and opted for darker greys, and pops of colour from some greenery instead.
Staging a home that has yet to be lived in can be tricky - but a clean and modern colour palette and furnishes is sure to attract the majority of potential buyers or tenants.
